Vinyl LP pressing. 2016 release, the third studio album by the British psych/jazz outfit. Syd Arthur is brothers Liam Magill (vocals, guitar), Joel Magill (bass, vocals), and Josh Magill (drums) and Raven Bush (violin, keyboards, mandolin). Formed in Canterbury, England, in 2003, the band has explored the myriad possibilities of improvisation, taking an exceptional approach born of prodigious musicianship, elemental songcraft, and an unabashed spirit of adventure. The band were initially known as Grumpy Jumper and then Moshka before settling on the name Syd Arthur. The band's name is taken from the Hermann Hesse novel Siddhartha, with the spelling changed reportedly as a nod to the influences of Syd Barrett and Arthur Lee. The Magill brothers had played together since childhood and classmate Raven Bush became the final member at 17. Bush is the son of John Carder Bush, brother of Kate Bush.
