The second release by Marseilles artist Sylvain Chuzeville (a.k.a Sylvain the Librarian). Staff Only No Vikings branches out musically by adding melodica, vintage synths and a variety of other instruments to create an exciting mix of ambience that all somehow works cohesively thanks to the song-writing brilliance and lack of pretention from the artist himself.The album starts out with a kick from the catchy Money Well Spnt, but then moves deeper harmonically and subject-matter-wise with The Bell Says and Es is Charlotte. The Librarian demonstrates his ability to use music as observational reporting with The People You Work With and Your Manager Now, songs which deliver honest stories with nice hooks and jaunty humor reminescent of The Beatles Revolver. The album as a whole delivers a nice blend of styles and instrumentation in a listenable lo-fi collection.
